Job Title: Optronics Systems Engineer Location: Sandwich, Kent Contract: Permanent Rate: Competitive Our Client is seeking an experienced Optronics Systems Engineer to lead the design and integration of optical, electro-optical, and laser-based sensors into advanced systems. This role spans the full project lifecycle, from requirements capture to system verification and integration. Key Responsibilities: Act as engineering lead for multidisciplinary projects involving optical, electro-optical, or laser technologies (e.g., LRF, target designation). Capture stakeholder requirements and develop system and sub-system specifications. Manage interfaces, technical risks, and opportunities throughout the design phase. Contribute to bid preparation, technical documentation, and customer meetings. Plan and execute verification and validation testing. Support integration of products in development and undertake customer visits as required. Requirements: Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience. Postgraduate experience with an optronics or product manufacturing background preferred. Knowledge of optical, electro-optical, laser, mechanical, electronics, and software disciplines. Familiarity with requirements management, Mil Specs, and Def Stan standards. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
